You are not alone. That is the main thing we want to express if you have experienced the loss of an infant through miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death.

Consoling Parents is here for you when you are ready for a support group – either through meetings twice each month, the website, a special email group, or through special events developed by the group. It is open to everyone in the community, regardless of age or which hospital you used or where you live -- we have members from metro Louisville, southern Indiana and from counties outside the Louisville metro area. Some women bring spouses or their significant other, and some come on their own.

The format is simple. At the beginning of each meeting we invite each person to share as much or as little about their experience as they wish. We then open up the group for discussion. In the past six months, we’ve discussed such topics as: the difference between men and women’s expressions of grief; anticipating and planning for anniversary dates, considering another pregnancy, relating to family and friends, etc. Our hope is to have a safe place for you to work through your experience of loss.

We hope you come to know the fellowship and support of other parents who have experience the loss of an infant, and benefit from sharing the journey. Wherever you find that support, we pray for your healing and well-being.
